In Brazil, The Emoji Movie has a full programme to develop the brand before and after its movie release in theaters. BR Malls implemented two different Emoji Movie branded themed events in 13 shopping malls.
From June to October 2017, Tycoon 360 achieved activation of two different event structures and promotional campaigns in BR Malls (the mall with the biggest amount of shopping malls in Latin America) with activities that took place in two or three different stores, per month.
The main activation was an “Emoji Movie Park” with a big ball pool with Emoji Movie themed characters. The other one was “Emoji Movie Trampoline”. The activities were placed in each mall.
Also, there was a support Marketing and Promotional campaign with different activities:
1. An augmented reality game app – “Emoji Movie Hunt” in which you could “see and hunt” the movie characters throughout the mall’s corridor with your smartphone.
2. A totem installation to create your Emoji Movie avatar that was free for visitors to generate digital engagement.
3. A Gift with Purchase campaign, in which, after you spend R$200 (about USD 70) on the mall stores, you win an exclusive Emoji Movie cup.
4. A walking character tour, in some shopping malls that received the event, in which people could take photos and interact with the movie main characters.
